- Before you buy a manual switch, you need to know if your motherboard (PC) requires keyboard and/or mouse emulation.
- Please run this simple test:
- First, save and close all programs.
- Then, while the computer is running, disconnect the keyboard and mouse.
- Wait 2 minutes and reconnect the keyboard and mouse.
- In the event that both devices work, this switch will be compatible with your hardware.
- Be sure to run this test on each computer that you intend to use with this switch.
- In the event that the mouse and keyboard do not resume normal function, you will need to purchase a powered KVM switch.
